Small Haul | Boots,Topshop & Ebay

Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted a lot recently! I have had a very bad and hectic week but luckily I still have a blog to help me de-stress and forget about school :) So recently, I completely splashed out and treated myself to some new gear, so I thought you would like to see what I bought with my leftover birthday money!
The first thing I bought was the 'Mighty Black leather Zip boots' from Topshop. These boots are probably the royalty of shoes! They are such good quality with a simple yet absolutely gorgeous design. They also feel extremely comfortable and with all these aspects considered, I think £45 is a bargain for such genuine and beautiful shoes. They have a Zip detail on the outside of each shoe and a heel no bigger than 3 inches, which means you can either were them causally or to a smart event/party, such amazing little shoes these are! The only thing that I would say is that they are big fitting, so I suggest that whatever size you are, you get the next size down :)

The next thing was the Models own range of nail polishes in 'Grapefruit' & 'Golden Peach' which are such pretty names for such pretty nail polishes! The grapefruit is a pastel lilac which I found (depending on the lighting) can be seen as pink or purple, which is really interesting and different compared to most nail polishes. But it is such a nice and summery colour, it brightens up any and every outfit. The only bad thing I would day is that even with 2 coats it starts to chip after a day or so, which isn't the best of quality but for such a pretty colour, I can accept the little imperfections.

After that, I still have some spending juice left and so I decided to buy the Chicago Lions jersery top from Topshop. I have had my eye on this for sometime now and so I was overjoyed when I went to buy it and found out that there was a 50% discount! I bought it two sizes too big as I like baggy jumpers, however I feel that if I did buy my actual size it would still be a good fitting. I really like this top because of the colour and design.

Believe it or not, I then went on to buy two more things! I bought the dog tee from Ebay, however it was originally from Lazy Oaf, one of my favourite stores! The top is cropped, but not half-way-up-your-tummy cropped, just a little of the bottom. There is also a really nice contrast between the black sleeves and the grey design, which I think works well to create a unique design. It also has a bat-wing sleeve.

The last and by no means least thing I bought was the 'Sounds Like Good' tee from The Midnight Beast store. I love this design because it's colourful yet simple and once again it's not particularly tight. You ould wear it with anything as it's a white top!

What have you bought recently?
~Thank you for reading!~

P.S You can get the MIGHTY Black Leather Zip here | You can get Models own nail varnish in Grapefruit & Golden Peach here |  unfortunately the Chicago Lions top and the dog top are unavailable but I have no doubt that they will be on ebay soon! | Sounds Like Good tee from The Midnight Beast Store! (surprise, surprise)

Day out In Brighton

Hello everyone! Well, If you have seen my previous Monday posts you will know that I normally do 'Music Monday' but unusually, I have a pretty exciting weekend that, if it's ok, I'd like to share with you :)
Well, So on Saturday me and my friends Becca, Holly and Lauren went to the pretty coastal city of Brighton to see The Midnight Beast (which was ironic because there gig was actually at midday) and Bastille at The Great Escape Festival! I used to go to Brighton a lot when I was younger so It was nice to revisit a part of my childhood with good friends and great bands!
Two of my favorite bands in one place at the same time woah

We joined the queue for The Midnight Beast as we were standing and I'm glad we did when we did because within about 10 minutes the queue had reached the end of the high street and we actually made it into the local newspaper for road blocking!
So, since the last time I went to Brighton I was about 6 or 7 (a good 8 years ago woah) so obviously I was too young to understand why Brighton was so popular with the men and just my luck, there was a ladyboy festival on close by, it was quite interesting though.
Long story short, The Midnight Beast were absolutely amazing as expected, although I don't think I have ever been hotter in the crowd! We all came out a bit starstruck as The band had pointed at us in songs numerous times. But we headed to the stage door to see if we could meet them but unfortunately everyone had had the same idea and we didn't get to meet them (just yet) Although, behinds there was a gay strip going on in the middle of the street. My innocence is gone and I'm officially disturbed.

From left to right: Me, Lauren, Becca
(Holly doesn't like photos so she took it instead)
So now we had the awkward couple of hours to kill before Bastille at 7:30 pm. So we decided to get some lunch and head down to Brighton Beach :)

It was so so nice to finally it sit down after the 5 hours of standing, and next to Brighton pier was a bonus! It was weird because even though TMB (The Midnight Beast) had apparently left, I still felt that they were in Brighton but me being obsessive, I thought it was just another one of my fantasy's.
We headed back to the venue's and wondered around for a while, just exploring, When I looked to my left to see Ashley (one of the band members) overtaking me! He was then followed by the rest of the band and the band's girlfriends! Obviously by this point I was freaking out and the dancers who had gone in front of us started to laugh. Unfortunately, I didn't go up to them as I got a vibe that they didn't want me to as they were with there girlfriends, So me and my friends kept our distance and pretended to watch the street act that they were watching. We then hung around for a bit just discussing what had actually just happened when there Van started to leave. The van had windows that you couldn't see in but they could see you, so I don't even want to know what they thought of us! But I just gave a sweet wave and turned my back to them (nicely of course, just to show that I'm not trying to stalk them)
The van started to move but then came to an abrupt stop, to which Stefan Abingdon (my inspiration and favorite band member) got out of the van to come and see us! I got a hug, we had a little chat and a joke or two, and then this happened!
I get butterflies everytime I see this because he means so much to me and I have been waiting to get a photo with him for almost two years! My eyes are saying 'oh my god Stefan Abingdon is holding me' so that's why I look a bit murderous!
Ok, all joking aside ,this was the actual time they left and I was over the moon with what just happened! Thank you Holly for taking the picture! :)
By this time it was Bastille next! Which really topped of the day as they were incredible, definitely one of the best concerts anyone can ever experience, I can't wait to see them again in October!
We were seated and this was a pretty good view!

Well that was my day! It was full of celebrities (we bumped into Rizzle Kicks at least twice) tame squirrels  (they would just climb up you leg to get food in your hand) and really nice people! (everyone is Brighton is SO nice, we could talk to anyone and get along with them, we even made some new friends)
Sorry, this post has been so long, but I hope you enjoyed it :)

'Gifted and Talented' rant

Hello everyone!! It's Friday, and unlike most of the teenager population that are out partying, i'm sitting here with a cup of tea writing a blog post. Just the way I like it :)

Well this is literally going to be a rant about the school scheme of 'Gifted and Talented', which is when the best and clever-ist students get picked to do this amazing opportunity that puts them one step ahead of the rest of us. I absolutely hate this scheme because whats the point in it? It makes every other student feel not good enough and I felt like that for the majority of year 7, 8 and 9. But now I have just learnt to resent it. Surely, the less academically able students (who try) should be getting the opportunities to encourage further study?  I understand that most people don't want to try in school and that's why they aren't as clever, but people who obviously want to do well but find it hard should be rewarded for there efforts in a way that will help them in other areas. I understand some people think "well you can't not reward the smart students because they'll stop trying" Yeah of course they should find a way to reward them, but I don't agree with giving them opportunities that they could already get without the 'gifted and talented' scheme. Opportunities like college trips or something should be offered to those who would maybe not find it so easy to get noticed for opportunities like this normally.
I understand that this may come across as jealously etc but honestly it's not, in fact I recently got chosen for Gifted and Talented in Spanish (I don't even know how), but I immediately decided not to go on it because I hate everything about the fact they single you out.
All my school cares about is the smart ones who will reflect highly of the school, the others they couldn't give a crap about.

Well, I just needed to say that because it annoys me so much! At least it's the weekend and I'm seeing The Midnight Beast and Bastille tomorrow so I'm a happy girl :-)
Have a good weekend!!

Best day of 2012

What was your overall best day of 2012? ♥

For me, 2012 was overall a great year. For everything bad that happened,a good thing happened too. It counter balanced really. So everyday was alright, some better than others. However out of the whole 366 days of 2012 (It was a leap year), The 6th of October was a particularly brilliant one. I'll tell you why now.

I had been planning this day for about a year, so I expected it to go perfectly. I'd thought through every aspect of the day, I thought about taking umbrellas in case it rained, I was prepared for anything for nothing was going to ruin that day. You could say I was 'expecting the unexpected' and to be honest at the end of the day I was quite pleased when everything did go perfectly. Everything I had imagined had happened. Right, so what actually happened? If you don't know, I'm absolutely obsessed with a bad called The Midnight Beast and so the 6th of October was going to be the first time I'd seen them live, that makes it a pretty big deal. SO, my friends who were coming with me came around before hand, then we got in the car (obviously) and drove to Bournemouth where we were going to see them. Having 3 overexcited hyperactive teenagers in a car was a challenge for my parents haha.

We got there about 11 and queued for a good 7 hours. During this wait, we made friends with the people next to us (who I'm still in contact with now) and we also found out that the first 50 people in the queue were to meet this beloved band. So obviously we become even more hyperactive (I didn't even know It was possible to reach such a high level of excitement.) When it was time to meet them, we were hysterical on the inside but actually surprisingly calm and playing it cool on the outside. Since we had meet and greet, we got to go in first which meant that we got to the front for the concert, as you can see below we were extremely pleased with ourselves.

So the concert was absolutely amazing as expected, after they went of stage we just stood there like 'NO WHERE ARE YOU GOING COME BACK' but sadly, we were forced to leave. The funny thing is even our intense love for the midnight beast couldn't compete with getting a drink instead of waiting for them afterwards. We got our drinks, drove home and literally flopped on the bed. Best day ever = Completed.

I normally never get too excited about a day because (knowing my luck) something would go wrong, but luck changed on that day, and I questioned whether the emotion of sadness still existed.

♥ Thank you for reading this long post♥
