Bourjois Paris Colour Boost review | Orange punch

"With its melting formula, Color Boost leaves a radiant veil of colour on the lips with just enough shine and moisture to enhance each shade."
As you probably already know, recently Bourjois Paris released a new line of lip crayons called "Colour Boost" and as far as I know, they have been extremely successful with make-up artists and the general public. You may wonder why this is because to some people,they do just look like a child's 'Crayola' crayon, but I think it's because of the 4 bold shades they come in, they are very exclusive and unique when applied. They come in the shades of Orange Punch (the one in the photo, a beautiful orange that gives a healthy glow) Peach on the Beach (which is a subtle yet sweet pink), Fuschia Libre (a very vibrant and strong Fuschia) and Red Sunrise (which is very similar to Fuchia Libre, but a little more restricted in colour and reserved)
Also, they are said to include 10 hours of hydration, a SPF of 15 and waterproof color, 3 in 1! what a treat...

I recently purchased one of these in  'Orange Punch' to see what all the hype was about. At first, I wasn't sure about it and I didn't really see why everyone couldn't stop talk about it, but after the first use I knew exactly what made it so different. The colouring in this is so unique! It has like a well pigmented under layer to give a natural glow rather then a fluorescent fake colour, however it can be built up for a more bolder colour. (not a bright orange but a subtle shade) and then they top layer is like the finishing touch that gives the orange glow. They've built this as if they're building a house: A base structure and then some decoration on top, which I find works really well.
Bourjois also claim that it has "10 hour hydration" which I wouldn't go to that extent, but I would say that it definitely lasts a lot longer than a lipstick & it is extremely hydrating, but after about 5 hours I would say the moisture is gone.
What I also really like about this product is that it is so easy to apply because of the shape of the crayon, it just makes it easier and saves more time when you're in a rush.
I seem to think that this product is a nice medium between lipsticks and lip-balms as it has the colourings of a lipstick but texture & hydration of a lip-balm, If they released more naturally shades, these would be perfect for school!
I used to stay quite far away from any glossy lip products as I used to think that they were sticky and generally looked slightly tacky on me, but thanks to these I have released that glossy doesn't have to be tacky and it can be moisturising, but not sticky
They only thing I would say is that they are slightly over-priced, but my lack of make-up experience is to blame! For all I know £7.99 could be a great price! Ah well, I will gain experience over time!
I am planning on purchasing "Peach on the beach", as soon as I can get my hands on one! They are literally sold out everywhere, I guess it's a popular colour...
Do you have any shades? Let me know :)

Small Haul | Boots,Topshop & Ebay

Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted a lot recently! I have had a very bad and hectic week but luckily I still have a blog to help me de-stress and forget about school :) So recently, I completely splashed out and treated myself to some new gear, so I thought you would like to see what I bought with my leftover birthday money!
The first thing I bought was the 'Mighty Black leather Zip boots' from Topshop. These boots are probably the royalty of shoes! They are such good quality with a simple yet absolutely gorgeous design. They also feel extremely comfortable and with all these aspects considered, I think £45 is a bargain for such genuine and beautiful shoes. They have a Zip detail on the outside of each shoe and a heel no bigger than 3 inches, which means you can either were them causally or to a smart event/party, such amazing little shoes these are! The only thing that I would say is that they are big fitting, so I suggest that whatever size you are, you get the next size down :)

The next thing was the Models own range of nail polishes in 'Grapefruit' & 'Golden Peach' which are such pretty names for such pretty nail polishes! The grapefruit is a pastel lilac which I found (depending on the lighting) can be seen as pink or purple, which is really interesting and different compared to most nail polishes. But it is such a nice and summery colour, it brightens up any and every outfit. The only bad thing I would day is that even with 2 coats it starts to chip after a day or so, which isn't the best of quality but for such a pretty colour, I can accept the little imperfections.

After that, I still have some spending juice left and so I decided to buy the Chicago Lions jersery top from Topshop. I have had my eye on this for sometime now and so I was overjoyed when I went to buy it and found out that there was a 50% discount! I bought it two sizes too big as I like baggy jumpers, however I feel that if I did buy my actual size it would still be a good fitting. I really like this top because of the colour and design.

Believe it or not, I then went on to buy two more things! I bought the dog tee from Ebay, however it was originally from Lazy Oaf, one of my favourite stores! The top is cropped, but not half-way-up-your-tummy cropped, just a little of the bottom. There is also a really nice contrast between the black sleeves and the grey design, which I think works well to create a unique design. It also has a bat-wing sleeve.

The last and by no means least thing I bought was the 'Sounds Like Good' tee from The Midnight Beast store. I love this design because it's colourful yet simple and once again it's not particularly tight. You ould wear it with anything as it's a white top!

What have you bought recently?
~Thank you for reading!~

P.S You can get the MIGHTY Black Leather Zip here | You can get Models own nail varnish in Grapefruit & Golden Peach here |  unfortunately the Chicago Lions top and the dog top are unavailable but I have no doubt that they will be on ebay soon! | Sounds Like Good tee from The Midnight Beast Store! Liebster blog award!

Hello everyone!! So today, I have been nominated by a lovely girl called Rosie, whose blog is definitely worth checking out! Thank you so much Rosie ♡.
Right, so despite walking an entire 21 miles over the weekend with a 10.5 kg rucksacks on my back (that's a post for another day) I have decided to blog and continue the Liebster blog award chain :-)
If you don't know what it is, the Liebster blog award is a chain post that allows bloggers with under 200 followers to get the recognition they deserve! However, there are some rules!
  1. You have to link back to the person who nominated you..
  2. You have to answer the eleven questions in the Liebster post from the blogger who nominated you..
  3. You then have to choose eleven bloggers who have less than 200 followers and nominate them..
  4. You need to then come up with eleven questions for your nominees to answer..
  5. Lastly, go to their blogs and let them know they've been nominated!

Here are the questions & answers that were left from the lovely Rosie!

1. What colour is your underwear today?
Haha! Such a good question, white with pink hearts on them :-)
2. What is your favourite online store?
This always changes, but at the moment it would be Zara.

3. Favourite memory?
I have so many good ones that I'd love to relieve, but the best one would probably be my birthday this year when I went to London with my family & bestfriend and then met Dan & Phil (which has reminded me to blog about, thanks)

4. Favourite type of accessory?
Necklaces definitely, I feel naked without one!
5. What is your prize possession?
My bag from Zara I got :)

6. Best website?

7. What is the last thing you did before reading this?
Ate half a bag of chocolate covered raisins - I'm an addict.
8. Sunglasses or hats?
Probably sunglasses because my hair is so thick that if I wore a hat I would look like a squished potato.
9. Candles or Incense?
Candles - Incense give me headaches!
10. Favourite type of chocolate?
I'm going to go really posh here and say Hotel Chocolat :)
11. If chicken breast had nipples would you eat it?
Not even kidding I have been thinking about this question for about 10 minutes deciding whether or not chickens actually have nipples so I googled it and it turns out they do, which is good for them I guess but i'm so so fussy when it comes to meat, so no, I don't think I would :)

11 Questions to you!

  1.  What is your favourite food?
  2. Cold weather or hot?
  3. Who are your inspirations?
  4. What would you do first if you had the power to pause time?
  5. Favourite store?
  6. What would you be your dream job?
  7. Who are the people who mean the most to you?
  8. Cats or dogs?
  9. Favourite memory?
  10. What is your special talent?
  11. If you could bring anyone back from the dead, who would you bring?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fabulous people I have nominated are....
That's it! You may have noticed that I only did about 10 people instead of 11 because most of the blogs I follow unfortuantely have more than 200 followers! but I am happy to follow more blogs so if you have a beauty, lifestyle or fashion blog, feel free to leave your blog link below :-)
How to care for thick hair
Hello everyone! You already know but my hair but my hair is extremely thick (I hate it, but that's a post for another day) So because it's so thick it needs some extra care, otherwise it genuinely does resemble a bush. Here are some products that I use:
Right,so I used to use a simple de-frizz shampoo and conditioner because i thought it would work better, but instead it left my hair more damaged and if anything worse than before. I have yet to try the John Frieda Frizz Ease shampoo (If you have a review on this than please comment with the link!) but as till then the L'Oreal Elvive full restore 5 repairing shampoo and masque work amazingly well. I always come back to these as they leave my hair in the best possible condition and generally my hair looks healthier. It also makes my hair less knotty and more easy to manage. However, over the time when I was using a de-frizz shampoo, I invested in the TRESemme keratin deep treatment masque to try and restore my hair to it's previous healthy (ish) state, and it worked a treat!
So that's my shower time done, then I use the TRESemme Platinum strength softening serum (on the bottle it says to use only 'a few pumps' but I have to use at least 6 for it to go through the many layers of hair I have) I'm really not sure what to think of this, because it seems to make my hair more greasy and I haven't really seen an improvement of the look either - but i'm going to keep using it until it runs out. I then comb through with a tangle teezer which I only got a couple of weeks ago but I think it is a definite must hair for thick haired people like me!
The products:
Tangle Teezer
TRESemme Platinum strength softening serum
L'Oreal Elvive full restore 5 repairing shampoo
L'Oreal Elvive full restore 5 repairing masque
TRESemme keratin deep treatment masque
Because I'm so young, obviously i'm not experienced with hair care and so if you know of a great product to make thick hair more manageable and softer or you just have some general tips, please let me know!
Keep smiling!
~Thanks for reading~
P.s Quick side note, it's my birthday this weekend and so I won't post until Monday or later :-)
Nail Varnish / Catch up!
Hello everyone! It feels like it's been forever since I last posted! I didn't post of Friday because It was the first night I literally had nothing to do: no revision, no homework. Just relaxing and looking forward to having this next week off. Also, I was ill with a typical cold so I had to take a break, sorry!
Ok well, I have decided that this 'Music Monday' thing isn't going too well! I have missed about 3 weeks of it and if i'm honest, I don't enjoy writing them as if you put a hobby into a schedule, it turns into a job, and because I procrastinate that means it's another thing to put off! So I might just post about my favourite songs when I feel that there are songs that need to be recognised.
Now that's out of the way, lets get on with the post!
If you have read some of my previous posts, you would know that I completely feel in love with the 'Kelly Brook' Nail polish range (you can read about it here) and today when I went on a cheeky shopping trip, I finally found them in Newlook, right on the bottom shelf!
This is pobably the nicest nail polish I own! It's such a nice summery colour and just generally makes me happy. It is a really rich peach colour, however leaning more towards orange than pink. Obviously, because it's peach it's called 'Peach Pop" which is a cute name for a cute colour. My friend (Holly) also bought a Kelly Brook Nail polish which happened to be 'Pretty n' Pink' and it was a really nice bubblegum pink if you're interested.(I think I might be into Peach this month seeing as I also bought a peach top)
I am aware that you can get a peach colour in pretty much every nail polish range, but I promise you this is like no other, it's the prettiest peach there is :)
Well I hope you enjoyed this and I shall speak to you soon!
Products I Would Like To Try
.
Hello everyone! It's the weekend again, which means we all made it though another lengthy week. I'm not a girly girl, I don't wear a lot of make up but there are some products that ,if I did wear more make up, I would like to try, so I guess here they are! ^.^
This is the NARS Happening Palette and from the reviews I have heard and seen, apparently it's absolutely perfect for a natural look because the shades are not too bright or too dark. This palette includes blusher (Left) A variety or very nice eye shadows (Middle) and a bronzer (right).     I would use this if I didn't have a flubbery face and yes I still so have my baby cheeks, so there would be no point in a bronzer, my cheeks are beyond saving.
The next thing is Yves Saint Laurent Candy Volupte Lipstick. This just looks amazing and Zoella did review a similar lipstick but this one is different, but only slightly. This is one of the things that I just see and get attached too. I would preferably like it in a natural and light colour, so that I could wear it more often. I'm guessing this is top of the range make up as it's £24! However,  I have no doubt that it's worth it.
 This next thing is something that I will most definitely get soon! *expect a review* It's the AYESHA fresh face mask from Lush (surprise surprise) Lush say "When you don’t have a flame of immortality to bathe in, try this instead." Which I think makes this extremely tempting and I already know from trying other Lush face masks that they always feel fresh on your skin and hydrating.
These are three things I would like to try, If you have tried them, then feel free to tell me what they were like :) Hope you all have a brilliant weekend!
Nails Painted
Hello Everyone! I just thought I'd do a quick post to show you my nails! That sound slightly weird but I have painted them. This is a privilege for me as we're not aloud painted nails at my school (frankly I don't see how they're distracting but whatever, my school is basically a prison so they might as well go the whole way and announce that they're taking in criminals) So yeah, here are my nails for you nail lovers! :)
I decided to do the ol' claw around the nail polish to show what I used but instead it looks really dramatic like I'm about to run off and grabbed my most prized possession in the mad panic.
A close up of my fingers for anyone who wanted one.
 So, I did three coats to get this look, I made it very natural as I wasn't really in the mood for something bright (Also because I recently bought a new top that's pink and as I shall obviously be wearing it a lot, I decided to match it to my nails. I am smart you know) First I used the base layer, which was the pale pink. This nail vanish came in a pack so it has no name, but you could easily get the same colour with any other pale pink nail varnish. I then reapplied this on top to get a stronger colour and then let this to dry. (It sounds like I'm giving you a tutorial on how to paint nails) Then I used Rimmel London's Disco Ball 500 as a top layer, which just made it a little more eye catching.
That's it really, plain and simple. As I have two weeks off, you can expect a lot more of these nail tutorials or whatever you call them! :)
Do you like me doing these sort of posts?
Just experimenting :)
Catastrophe Cosmetic *review*
Catastrophe Cosmetic is a organic face mask from one of my favorite pampering shops, Lush. This product is infused with fresh Blueberries, so obviously once you apply it, it's really refreshing. It's retail price in £5.75 - which you may think is quite expensive for a 75g pot (I did at first) but trust me, this natural beauty deserves to be. It will last you a good two weeks if you apply a generous amount every other day. If you want to keep the fresh, crisp and natural feel to this mask when you slap it on, then you need to keep it in the fridge (as it's made from organic ingredients and all)
I got encouraged to try this (thank god I did) by the one and only Zoella and I don't regret it at all. I'm lucky enough to have naturally healthy and clear skin, but even after the first use of this, my skin felt so much smoother and I noticed a lack of spots! Lush say that 'this is basically your bast mate in a pot', and I can see why. It calms, soothes and cools the skin. If your best friend doesn't do that, then get this instead. I really recommend trying this if you have fairly spotty, sensitive or dry skin.It does the job! Like i said, the only trouble with this is that it needs to be kept in the fridge, which i found was a bit annoying as I had to go downstairs, retrieve it from the fridge and put it back afterwards. But it was totally worth it - no doubt. Also, another slight downer is that it expires after about 2 weeks, which makes me want to use it all as quickly as possible. But hey, you can't change the fact that Blueberries go off, I'd rather have a natural product that last two weeks than a artificial product that last six months!
You know what's even better? Lush now do an offer that if you return 5 pots or tubes from used lush products, you get a free face mask! This will definitely be my first choice. What could be better than getting a best friend in a pot for free?
~ As always, Thank you for reading and hope you have had a good day, I know I have! :) ~
Father Christmas Bath bomb review
For Christmas, I got given a Lush cosmetics gift box. In this gift box I got a limited edition bath bomb (I sound like an obsessed collector) called 'Father Christmas' the name is pretty self explanatory.
The bath bomb started off as they all do, fizzing viciously as the water reacts with the chemicals. But after about 30 seconds the creamy beard of Santa melts away and then the pinkish layer divides into four to reveal a bold green center. As the green center melts away, you start to notice gold glitter. By the time the bath bomb has fizzed to death, you are left with a beautifully smelling glittery green bath, sticking to the festive season. I thoroughly enjoyed this bath bomb, however it leaves behind quite a bit of mess because of the glitter. It smelt like cinnamon and Christmas in general and therefore immediately took me back to the festive season. It was also quite a good size: you got a lot for the money. Unfortunately, this was a seasonal bath bomb so it won't be around again until next Christmas, but I suggest you keep your eyes open for it! I'm definitely getting this one again. :~)
